Gipsy Moth IV Gin is launched
The concept of the Gipsy Moth IV – London Dry Gin has been started in Scheveningen during the Ocean Race at The Hague stop-over in 2023.
“Gipsy” Gin has been established to help support the ongoing operation, maintenance and upkeep of Gipsy Moth IV.
Gin was Sir Francis Chichester’s favourite drink. He sipped his gin from his famous gimble chair (pictured above) in Gipsy Moth IV as he raced around the world. Sir Francis is also a number of famous “gin” quotes.
The Gipsy Gin will start to be sold in 2024 in regular bottles and also in a number of limited editions and collectors sets, hand numbered and specially boxed:

- The GMIV Club Edition available for purchase by Yacht Clubs
Gipsy Gin has been developed and is produced in the oldest private distillery in The Netherlands which started production 1658, during the time of William of Orange. The juniper spirit was first drunk by the Dutch soldiers who drank it to give them courage before they went into battle. Soon after, gin was created in England when William became king of England, Scotland and Ireland.
The Gipsy Moth IV Gin taste has the “original” formulation of herbs and is made 100 percent from natural ingredients. This ensures that drinker of the highest quality and most refreshing and original taste – which like Gipsy Moth IV has stood the test of time. The first batch, BATCH NUMBER ONE has been distilled in 2023 and will be available for purchase from 1 June 2024.
